You may or may not be amazed, however, at how many writers never figure it out. Most of the information is out there if one looks hard enough, but when you get those stars in your eyes, it's difficult for others to convince you. It's easy to get blinded by the fantasies of being rich and famous.
Then when reality hits, so many will fail to recognize it and adapt. They go off, blaming The Man or whatever else is out there that MUST be holding them down. Then they spread their hate across the Net for newcomers to read and buy into.
So while the good information is out there - the reality of it all like what you posted - there's a lot of misleading crap out there, as well. The vanity publishers also add to it.
Anyway, it's always refreshing to see a writer who can take the rejection and disappointment, and see it for what it is: part of being a writer. It's great that you'll stick with it because it still has it's rewards for sure. They just don't come in overnight packages like so many originally believe.
